From the 6th to the 9th of February 2024, the consortium of the HeArts of Youth project has reunited in Nicosia, Cyprus to hold the prototypical version of the Training of Trainers that will be hosted by the Italian partner in June.
As a matter of fact, in the following months, the consortium will develop a manual for youth workers interested in realising workshops based on dance and art therapy techniques. The two days of training and focus group that were held in Nicosia worked as an experimental session, to see what youth workers that operate with young migrants think are the necessities for the upcoming manual.
The dance and art therapy techniques experimented during the training have been an occasion to focus on the potential of creative movement and use of artistic tools for expressing oneself, reflecting on emotions and the participants’ role as social workers. The focus group of the second day worked as a feedback session to collect the impressions and suggestion of the youth workers involved: since the real training will be developed in the upcoming months, it is fundamental to keep in consideration the impressions of the experts in the field of working with migrant youth, the eventual beneficiaries of the project.
In parallel to these training activities, the guest partners have had the possibility to visit the facilities of the Cypriot partner, Hope For Children. The consortium thus had the possibility to see in person the reality of youth workers who work daily in improving the living conditions of migrant youth and supporting the children victim of abuse.
In the spirit of international cooperation and protecting the wellness of young people across Europe, the HeArts of Youth now moves towards its next step, the creation of the Manual for youth workers. Stay tuned not to miss any update on the project!
